10 Days on Earth

I went to see my friend, Ronnie Burkett, and his Theatre of Marionettes new production of 10 Days on Earth. He is truly a master of his craft, the puppets are exquisite (he creates them himself - a dying artform) and the show itself was remarkable - a story that balanced somewhere between gay camp, children's fairy tales, and a heartwrenching contemporary tragedy. I first saw his shows (Virtue Falls and then Awful Manors) many, many years back and I am delighted that the magic is still there. Ronnie is truly an unique and gifted artist. He finishes his run this Sunday at Theatre Network and then moves on to Vancouver. If you get the chance to see this impressive show, all I can say is; GO!
