favorite hunks & other things
I was delighted with the wonderful post favorite hunks & other things did on my photography today. Not only was one of my photos chosen as the pic of the day but the analysis of my work by Tye Briggs was thoughtful and very flattering. To read the article and see a nice selection of some of my past images, click here.

Liv Lethal Owns The Chair

I took quite a departure with my new series, The Chair, this evening and photographed an absolutely gorgeous woman, the first in the series and one of a handful that I've photographed nude in my entire career. I'm delighted with the images, in fact, there were so many great shots it was difficult to select which ones to showcase. I also had so much fun working with this lovely lady that I'm going to look for other projects so that I can work with Liv Lethal again. I'm one happy photographer!

Out and Out Exhibition at ChimMaya Gallery, LA
Thrilled to announce that four of my photos will be on display and for sale as part of the Out and Out exhibition at the ChimMaya Gallery in East Los Angeles. The gallery's curator, Steven Acevedo contacted me to include the infamous image, busted, in this year's show and by the time we had finished negotiations he had selected another three that will be shown together, in effect a jackson photografix triptych featuring Vancouver models Kevin Ayton and Silver Burla. The exhibition open June 2 and runs until July 6, 2013. I encourage those living in the greater LA area to take in the show as it has several renowned artists participating including Esau Andrade who I know from Mexico.

Favorite Hunks and Other Things
It is becoming a little freaky that the universe is really conspiring to drive home its point and endorse my decision to return to photography as my primary source of income. Not only have I been selling work this week but I just received this wonderful email from blogger/writer Trevor Biggs:
"Like everyone these days it seems I run a blog. My Blog Favorite Hunks & Other things has been up for about 4 years and gets over 25,000 hits a day. As someone who at one time wanted to be a photographer (until real life kicked in) my blog has a focus on talent, not just beauty. I often profile photographers as well as models. When I see a shot I love, I am often most interested in the artist behind the lens. The blog works close with several photographers, agents, producers and a couple of actors. I am also a writer and currently act as Features Editor for photographer Dylan Rosser's online magazine tMf (the male form).
The blog is mostly a photographer/model showcase. I only post an artists work with their support. I do not want to be one of those bloggers who uses an artists work without permission and only do profiles with direct cooperation from the artist. I found your work while on model Silver Burla's page which led me to your Model Mayhem page. Really love your work, my favorite being the image of Mark from Puerto Vallarta. Would love to put together a feature on the blog, I especially like spotlighting fellow Canadians. If you have any interest, please drop me a line."
Needless to say we are proceeding with a feature for his blog, which I will post once it appears online.

Viva La Revolucion!
Because of my model, Mauricio Rossi, being friends with the owner and manager of La Revolucion Sportsbar in Puerto Vallarta, we ended up doing a subsequent shoot the day after our calendar shoot.
We shot at the actual restaurant/bar and also enlisted one of the waitresses, Fabiola, who was stunning.
The shoot was envisioned to be a traditional take on the Mexican way of life -- hot sexy boy/hot sexy girl and booze. I guess when you think about it, it's actually quite a universal axiom. Anyhow, it was a quick and fun session which I imagine the owners Luis and Antonio will use the images on Facebook and other social media sites.
If I was creaitng the ad, it would read:
Viva La Revolucion ... where the drinks are ice cold and the crowd is sizzling hot!

Jon & PJ, Stanley Park, August 2012
Spent
part of the day editing photos I shot this past summer. Jon and PJ are
always wonderful to work with, either solo or together, their images are
always captivating and incredibly sensual. Here are a few of the standouts that I worked on
today.
